The composing stone

Before there were PDFs there were galleys — columns of set type rearranged by hand until the story ran in the right order. This bench does the same work with pages. Your “keep” list is the new running order: name what stays and where it goes (`3, 1-2`), leave gaps for what goes (`1-5, 7` skips page 6), add a quarter turn for anything that landed sideways on the glass.

Like everything on this floor it happens in the tab, not on a server: the file is read from disk, rebuilt in memory to your spec, and saved straight to downloads. The original document never changes.

Questions people ask

How do I delete pages from a PDF?

List only the pages you want to keep, in “Keep, in this order”. A spec like `1-5, 7` rebuilds the document without page 6. The original file is never touched.

How do I put pages in a different order?

The same field is your new sequence: `3, 1-2, 4-` moves page 3 to the front and keeps the rest in order. Pages appear exactly where you list them, so duplicates are allowed too — `1, 1, 2` prints page 1 twice.

Can I fix sideways scanned pages?

Yes — pick a turn of 90° clockwise or counter-clockwise (or 180°) and every kept page rotates with it. For a whole document that arrived sideways, “keep all” plus one quarter-turn is the usual job.

Does reorganizing re-compress my pages?

No. Pages are copied between documents exactly as they were stored — text stays sharp, images keep their resolution, nothing is re-rendered.
