FileFinery is built and run by one independent developer at Studio Ropewalk, LLC, a limited liability company registered in North Carolina, United States. This form goes straight to that person's inbox, so there is no support desk and nobody else reads it.
What is worth writing about
- A conversion that failed or came out wrong. The most useful report names the source format, the route you used, your browser, and what you expected versus what you got. Please do not send the file, since we would rather not hold your documents any more than the converter does. A description of the structure that broke is enough.
- A DOCX that lost its layout. Converting a Word file converts its content, not Word's page model, so intricate columns and text boxes will not survive intact. Tell us which construct broke; some of them are fixable.
- A format we do not support. Legacy .doc, .xlsx, .pptx and HEIC come up most often. Whether one is possible depends on whether it can be handled in the browser without shipping a large library to every visitor, so tell us the use case and we will answer honestly.
- A print shop listing that is wrong or missing. The finder is only as good as its data, and shops close.
- Something in the guides that is incorrect. Corrections are welcome and get made.
- Accessibility problems. If a tool is hard to use with a keyboard, a screen reader or at high zoom, that is a bug and it gets priority.
- Privacy and data requests. See the privacy policy for what we do and do not hold; requests are answered within 30 days.
Response time
Usually a few days. This is one person's side project rather than a staffed desk, so a busy week can stretch it, but every message is read. Leave an email address if you want a reply.
